This contemporary family home in Derbyshire boosts a rather large kitchen/diner space with plenty of storage. A mix of walnut & cream cabinetry adds character. Colour Inspiration

Plum, lilac & silver

This colour pallete is very romantic feeling & looks stunning against the definition of white. This soft smouldering combination screams elegance  & sophistication.Its a comfortable yet feminine feel for your space & perfect for creating a romatic bedroom. 

 I recently used this colour scheme for a customer for a bedroom design. A headboard was a key element to the design & I took inspiration from a striped purple & grey headboard & worked the scheme around this. This colour palette is softer & less girly than pinks which the client would have loved but her partner not so much. So a mix of soft feminine fabrics in feminine tones but with the more masculine stripes added in as the main feature.

Bathroom Inspiration

                               Celebrity bathroom's


On Monday we had a celebrity house tour with Katy Perry so lets poke our noises into some celebrity bathrooms for today's bathroom inspiration. 

The first bathroom is that of pop star Christina Aguilera's Beverally Hills home, this lavish master bathroom is eclectic & extravagant with its beautiful feature fireplace. What a lovely space this would be to relax & unwind on a chilly evening, soaking in a warm, bubble bath with a fire roaring maybe a glass of red in hand!

Our second bathroom sneak peek is that of sonny Bono's master bathroom at his home in Palm Springs. This amazing master bathroom is a real tropical retreat with a free standing bath tub for ultimate relaxation. It boasts natural stone flooring that leads out onto a secluded patio, a perfect space to chill in your bathrobe enjoying the beautiful landscape. 

Lastly is Dennis Quaids master bathroom from his french country style estate in california. It is very elegant & classic. French limestone pavers make the space feel warm and inviting.

Kitchen Tour

Today's kitchen tour is a stunning contemporary space with Ebony veneer cabinetry & pale white surfaces & flooring. A mix of white walls to give a light & airy feel with bolder orange feature wall that adds some drama. The most eye catching feature is the cleverly designed peninsula that has one end suspended from the floor with an intricate steel structure that gives the illusion that it is floating. There are many other smart features including a bank of ovens & warming drawers, tambour doors hiding smaller appliances & a mirrored fridge/freezer.

Well after posting a house tour of a private paradise island last week it would have been a rather big bump down to earth with your every day house tour wouldn't it? So I thought maybe today we would have a little sneaky peek at the gorgeous Katy Perry's home which is presently up for sale for $3.395 million (any takers?)
While the grounds are full of ancient-inspired details, the home's interior is all modern.
