                       Cabinet Reveal
Well I thought it was about time I revealed the cabinet I have painted & distressed. Its long overdue to be shown to you but here at last is the finished piece & I have to say I am very pleased with it.

The piece has already been claimed by a new owner & I cant wait for my next furniture makeover project. Although my present handmade project is some latte mugs I have designed & individually hand painted. I just have the outlining finish & they are ready to go to glaze so look out for another reveal pretty soon.

Colour Inspiration

GREY

Shades of grey are perfect for bringing your space up to date for a contemporary look but can also look beautiful alongside whites for a vintage feel. So who say's grey is dull? Cool neutral greys are sophisticated & work well as a backdrop against brighter bursts of colour. I've picked some of my favourite contemporary grey spaces from Elle Decor to share.

Heart Garland

You will need:-

*Heart shaped biscuit cutters
*Fabric (vintage fabrics create a wonderful effect)
*Iron-on fabric adhesive
*Bright embroidery thread
*Needle for threading
*Stuffing for hearts
*Gold mini bells (available from craft shops)
*A length of cord
*Wire
*Iron
*Pinking shears
*Glue
*Scissors

1/ Make a heart template by drawing round a biscuit cutter, or draw your heart shape freehand.

2/ Iron the iron-on fabric adhesive onto a square of your chosen fabric.

3/ Using your template, cut out two hearts from the fabric.

4/ Peel off the iron-on adhesive, leaving a sticky residue on the fabric, and stick the two hearts together. Leave a gap for stuffing.

5/ Sew round the edge of the hearts with running stitch using the bright embroidery thread. Leave a gap for stuffing the heart.

6/ Using pinking shears, pink the edges of your fabric.

7/ Iron round the edge of the heart to fuse the glue (still leaving a gap for stuffing)

8/ Stuff your heart. Be careful not to overfill. The desired effect is padded, rather than overstuffed.

9/ Sew up the gap neatly to finish off the heart.

10/ Thread wire through the top of the heart, twisting to secure. Twist a loop in the wire so it will hang on the cord.

11/ Repeat until you have your desired number of hearts.

12/ Twist up little bunches of the golden bells on wire. Twist a loop in the wire for hanging onto the cord.

13/ Take your piece of cord and glue one of the ends so that it doesn't fray when threading. Tie a loop in the other end for hanging.

14/ Thread the stuffed hearts alternately onto the cord, knotting them into place to secure, then tie a loop in other end of the cord. Now you garland is ready to hang.

Tranquil Bathroom Style

Just imagine that somewhere outside your bathroom window lush palms are swaying and the breeze carries the scent of exotic flowers. Relaxing & unwinding from a long, hard day at work in a hot, bubble bath with scented candles burning & a cheeky glass of wine in hand. Lovely to dream isn't it.

Friends Feature Friday

The end of another working week (well for some I have work tomorrow) but an early finish today as my son Joe has some Jubilee celebrations at his school this afternoon. I am looking forward to the long weekend & celebrating with family & friends so i may not pop into the blog for a few days. But lets say hello to the lovely Hannah for today from Hannah's Buns who joins us with some of her scrumtious delights. You can also find Hannah over on my cookery blog where she shares one of her creative recipes.

Hannah's Buns - Sheep and pink pompom cake pops

I made a cake for a lady a couple of days ago you may have seen it on my blog the tigger cake.  She wanted some cake pops for some young girls at a youth club. So I came up with making some cute little sheep and pink glitter pompoms. Cake pops are pretty easy to make you make sponge cake whichever flavour you like. Then once its cooked and cooled you add some homemade butter cream to them enough to make balls with the sponge.  Then you leave in the fridge to harden a little. The next step is to melt the candy melts and dip the cake balls and the lolly pop sticks in to it. This I feel is the hardest bit in the process as some candy melts I have found don't always melt to the same consistency as they should. Then you just decorate them how to want. They are more time consuming than just a traditional cupcake but they are a bit of fun and something a little different. I hope you like mine and more things to come soon. Thank you for reading x
