Revamp For Autumn

Well summer is officially over here in Blighty  & I do feel we were slighty robbed of some sunshine this year. Thankfully  I will be jetting out to Florida at the end of October for some late winter sun. We are only in September & already I want to pop on my comfy wear & slippers & curl up on the sofa under a blanket come the evenings. Seriously I am already thinking about open fires & hot chocolate. Well I guess that's it then, time to pull out the woolies from the back of the wardrobe & also to think about revamping the house for a new season. Dont get me wrong I love autumn & the beautiful colours from the leaves that fall from the trees. This season really does have a gorgeous colour pallette.

I have said many times before here on my blog that a lick of paint can totally change the feel of a room choose warm caramels & browns, beiges or warming  terracottas. You could even brave feature walls in reds or oranges. But if you dont want to change the paint work every couple of seasons then its best to choose neutrals as an all year round base & play with accents & accessories to change the mood of the room with the season.  Its also wise to pick big furniture pieces in neutral tones too, its easy to add colour, pattern & texture by adding cushions that you can change around come a new season.  The complete mood of a neutral based room can be changed by the choice of colours & fabrics you add.

Opt for a warmer & cozier feeling style for Autumn & bring out the textured cushions & warm fur throws ready for snuggling on the sofa. I really love experimenting with different looks & by changing accents in rooms like cushions & vignettes you can really make a difference. How gorgeous is this throw from Layla Grayce.
